I know so of you saw the blog on school policy that I wrote a couple of weeks ago. If not I was talking about how easy it was to sign my kids out of school. Yesterday I went back to the school to sign my oldest out to take her to the doctor. Again I ran into the same thing. I was not asked to see any ID or even asked my name. So I decide to ask the principle right then about there policy and she said they usually just ask you your name. In my mind this is not enough. I would like some feed back from Surf Anderson. My next step is going to be the School board. I would love to have more than just my case. I would love to have other peoples input on this.
There something that really gets under my skin. Schools and there so called policies. If you need some info about your child you have to jump through hopes. On the other hand they only do this when it is convenient for them. Today I went to check my kids out of school for a doctor opponent. I walked into the front office and told them I need to check them out. Also I guess I need to add my oldest is my step daughter and has a different last name than me and her sister. The lady asked me to fill out a sign out book and she called them. I started to realize that she was not going to ask me for id or even my name. So I filled out her book and just scribbled a name down to see if she would even look at it. To my surprise she did not. She never found out my name or was I even related to them. I guess I have said all this to say that is your kids even safe in there schools. Maybe you need to find out how the school your child goes to handles this.
I started to notice this in 2007. I was sitting at a red light waiting on it to turn. A person hit me in the rear and decides to go around me and run the red light. I proceeded to chase the man down when I noticed he was not going to stop. I also dialed 911 and put the operator on speaker phone. During this time he ran several cars out of the road, drove into on coming traffic, and finally crashed. When I pulled up on the crashed car he was digging in the glove box of the car. He then stepped out of the car with a long trench coat on and his hands in inside of it. I carry a pistol in my truck just for times like this. I pulled my pistol and asked him to stop and to take his hand out of his coat. He stops but would not take his hand out of his coat. The whole time this was happening I still had 911 on speaker phone. I asked the lady to send some one fast. For some reason it toke an officer one hour to get on scene. By the time the officer had got there the person had went and got in his car. The officer had to use force to remove him. Later found out he did have a gun and was high on crack. Also he had 3 outstanding warrants for his arrest. That is just one case. Another was just this week. My aunt witch is 76 years old was in wreck. I am not sure how was at fault but it was on a very busy hwy. It toke the State Trooper 2.5 hours to get to the scene and work it up. I know of several examples of this type of stuff. I am not sure that this is the officer’s fault or not having enough officers but this stuff needs to be handled.
